AIR LIQUIDE BURKINA FASO  

.   Air liquide has been in Burkina Faso since 21 janvier 1972.

.   in the beginning the company was called VOLTOA (Volta Oxygen and Acetylene Company [Société Voltaïque d’Oxygène et d’Acétylène]) with a starting capital of 35 million.

.   In 1984 with the help of a denomination change, VOLTOA became SOBUGAZ (Société Burkinabé de Gaz Industriels)[Burkinabe Industrial Gas Company].

.   Today it has a capital of 90 000 000 FCFA. It is 65% owned by the AIR LIQUIDE group, 34% by the Burkinabé state (27% by the Fond Burkinabé pour le Développement Economique et Social (Burkinabe Economic and Social Fund), 7% by the public Treasury) and 1% by the Koupéla Diocèse.

.   In 1993, AIR LIQUIDE SOBUGAZ opened an agency at Bobo Dioulasso to assist the industrial operators in that part of the country.

.   In 1995 the company increased its production by the installation of a second compressor.

.   Since 2006, AIR LIQUIDE SOBUGAZ has used an Industrial Management System (IMS) aiming at securing operational safety and reliability. The IMS project is based on staff skills and the implementation of procedures covering industrial operations.

.   SOBUGAZ made safety a priority, and because of this there have been no accidents causing a stoppage of work since June 1991.

.   AIR LIQUIDE SOBUGAZ covers Burkina Faso and Niger.

.   It has 24 employees.
